I know, it's not technically summer but I'm sure for most of us, it's warm/hot enough to consider it summer.  I'm grateful for the cooler than normal (pre)summer we've had but now it's time to get serious in thinking of ways to beat the heat.  I hate that I can't enjoy it because I love everything about summer, but the heat Smiley Surprised  I love tropical locations, summer vacay, adult beverages, tropical colors, white beaches, clear blue tropical water, fabric, decor,  jewelry...everything.  Everything but the tropical heat.  Looking forward to one tropical adult beverage this summer and to the end of (post)summer around the end of Oct.

Yup I'm one of them that LOVES the heat of the summer. The hotter the better! And bring on the humdity! Our life is boating and here where I live we only have a few short months of doing that! This cold spring we have been having is driving me nuts. We have our dock in and our boat is just sitting there waiting for us! Heart

Summer has never been my favorite season! I live in SC where it can get very hot and humid for very long stretches. I prefer looking at summer through the windows of well air-conditioned rooms!

It gets hot and humid in Philly in the summer and I can't stand it.  Every May, all I can think is "only 5 months 'till October".  I'll take a blustery cold day over summer in a heartbeat.

I love summer and the heat.  I hate the cold weather.

So far in PA it has been cold and rainy.  Two nights ago, we had the heat turned on.

It's supposed to be hot today...yeah, but we really  expecting rain again this weekend and all next week. Right now it's 57 degrees here. It's been too cold to sit out at night.

It's suppposed to be 90 this afternoon...hard to believe.  our farmers are not happy and I'm not either.

@Citrine1 Are you in the city?  I would hate spending the summer in the city particularly if you live in a brick home.  When I was young we lived in Brooklyn and all of the pavement and brick just made it hotter.

It does get hot in the area but at least there are usually a lot of breaks of cooler and less humid days.  Down south it's just relentless!

Re: Happy? Summer

[ Edited ]

It's Arizona. Summer lasts until October. Hate summer. No or very low humidity but there are many days when it's like an oven out there. Only go out if I have to and early in the morning. Preferably before 9 am while it's still under 100 degrees. Inside car temps reach 140 and above. I'm ready for Halloween. Happy summer is an oxymoron.

The same here.  Our boat is still covered up.  The lake where we dock has been awful too.  We have had so much rain.  The water is muddy and full of debris.

I love the heat too.  I love everything about summer, but the mosquitoes.

@haddon9   Yes, that's certainly true about down south.  I suppose we don't have it so bad compared to them.  I'd perish down there - haha - I simply couldn't handle it.

Yes, I'm in the city and in a brick house!  Air conditioner usually runs non stop from May through October.  Of course, we do get occasional breaks.

Then again, we get some warm whether in the winter sometimes.  There have been days in February and April when I've needed the air as well, albeit rare.

We actually took the boat out for the first time yesterday to Lake Wylie, SC. Had lunch at the restaurant on the lake and then back home.

It belongs to my BF's son in DC but he doesn't have room to store it.....so it's been here in NC for over a year now.
