L'Shana Tovah to you also.
I am alone as both my parents have passed. It is always bittersweet. They loved the holidays and the traditions.
May those of you with families be blessed and find joy in their company.
I'm lighting the Yarzheit candle tonight for my dear mother and father.

You light the Yazheit Candles on Yom Kippur, which would be at sunset next Friday

Thanks, Reiki. 8)
And to all my Jewish sistas...
This dude with the shofar says:

And I say:
Happy Rosh Hashanah!/Happy New Year!
Try not to do anything so nasty that you'll have to mega-atone for it on Yom Kippur. ![]()

My parents always lit the candle on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in memory of their parents. I think from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur it's the time to honor the memories of our loved ones. This is the tradition I was handed down. I also light them on their respective Yazheit days. It gives me consolation, so I do it both days. Thanks.

Daring I think it is important for you to do what is right for you. Aside from Yom Kippur I do not light Yazheit candles according to the Jewish Calendar. I light them on the day of their death according to our calendar. Some people think that is wrong too. I don't care.
I hope everyone has a happy and sweet 5775!
