After Thanksgiving Day and Christmas this is my most favorite day of the year.  Only 10 hours of sunlight and the longest night of the year.  I always have a special dinner/treat curled up on the couch with Christmas movies.  Have all day to decide what to order in, no cooking.  Perfect kick off to a five day week-end.

@beckyb1012  This is going to sound weird, but it's pouring here today, it's quite dark now (9 am) and is what most would consider a very gloomy day.  And I'm loving it!!!  Both trees are lit as well as my foyer greens.  Going to wrap gifts and make lists of groceries I need to get TOMORROW when the weather is good.

Will have Christmas music playing in the background, may put on a Christmas movie too.  I know I sound like a Grinch most of the time but once we get into the season (meaning no earlier than December) I enjoy it.

ughhh hope it flys by... today its almost 60 here... crazy.. winter always drags.. i hate it... i dont mind if its 25 all winter,,, just no snow. but i know thats not going to happen... happy digging out all

I like winter and I like snow (in reasonable amounts) so I'm good with it being winter... Not hoping it flies by... I like having actual seasons, even though here in the mid-Atlantic it doesn't seem like we ever get four seasons anymore like we used to... Today. the first day of winter, and it's in the mid-60's... Go figure... Don't like it... Even if it's a given we aren't going to have a white Christmas, as we so rarely do, it would be nice if it was at least seasonably cold... Oh yea, and it would be nice if this endless rain would blow itself out...

We won't be having a white Christmas here in St. Louis area this year.  Supposed to be sunny and a high of around 50.  But look out after that....winter will hit us.....
