Being a tall person, I can't stand the low squatty ones.  Getting down isn't so bad, but getting up is another story.  There's A WAY, but it isn't pretty.  😄

If the only tall one is in the handicapped stall, I'm using it.

I am in Pennsylvania.  I have shopped in PA, NJ and VA and when I rolled the grocery cart out to my car in a handicap space to load the groceries in my trunk,  I have had to walk quite a bit away to return the cart to the cart station.

Just this past week, I returned the empty cart to the cart station for a lady who was parked in the handicapped spot.  It was at Wallmart, but Giant, Sam's Club, Costco all have the same set up.

Before my knee replacement, I was in extreme pain.  After shopping, I could hardly walk.  It was a hardship to return the cart.  Now I have no issues, but I always help others return the cart when I see them parked in a handicapped spot.

They should place the carts near the handicap spaces.  Many people use them as their walker and it would be convenient if they were closer.

Well, it seems to be an unwritten rule in my area that a car left in the handicapped section usually is left there for the next person to park in that area.

It's nice to pull in and have a cart sitting right there, waiting for me.    

It's commonly done here.

Anyone that leaves a CART(?) in the handicapped spot deserves to be ticketed for that maneuver.  Whether the person that left it there is handicapped or not, it's inconsiderate and lazy, plain and simple.

I have very long arms and legs and I'll use the Handicap Stall, if it's available - I have difficulty fitting in the "regular" stalls, and I always end up having a "near miss" trying to manuever my body in that tight space.

Of course, I would never butt in front of a disabled woman to use one, but I'm in and out pretty quickly, and would certainly apologize, if I exited one and found a disabled person waiting to use it.

P.S. I make it a point to not drink any water, if I'm going to be out for a while - I absolutely HATE using public restrooms.
