Love it! Good for him. Maybe this experience will turn him around and this sort of thing can only create more good.

All he really did is yell for help.
He's been arrested again since the incident.

Yelling for help was the right thing for him to do. He was handcuffed--what else could he have done. This kid, by "merely yelling" for help, did indeed save the officer's life. If this kid had not alerted others to the situation, the officer may not have survived. This kid could have sat there and stayed silent while the officer lay on the floor, but he didn't. He had enough character to do the right thing.
It's disappointing to hear he's been arrested again. I hope he turns his life around and gets on a better path.

Maybe he's looking for another opportunity to be a hero again.

I agree. It's irrelevant that he was arrested later. He did a good thing here.

I just think that's cold.

Perhaps a handshake and a simple thank you would have sufficed. The kid certainly was not inspired by the incident to lead a better life.

My point was that the title of the article leads you to believe he performed CPR or something.
And the fact that he has been arrested again since the incident would indicate that he hasn't had any sort of epiphany. The glass is half empty.
