I buy them at Walmart, not a Hallmark store and they're outrageous, about a minimum of $5.00 each, some are more. Then add 50 cents postage.

The only cards we buy are for the grandchildren, because they love getting cards and hanging them up. And, I usually get them at the Dollar Tree.
Also, I may buy a couple of cards for out-of-state family and friends. That's it. We have a no-card agreement in our immediate family. An unnecessary expense!

Thats nice but hope they keep the other brand as well! I always liked the Tender Thoughts cards and they were different from what you could find.
Cards have really gotten expensive that I always try and buy cheaper ones, they are just as good since most ppl just throw them out after the occasion is over. Even some cards at Walmart are expensive except the smaller ones.

I think Hallmark is outpricing themselves.
I was looking at some cards at the grocery store, and they were all over $8.
I don't have a Dollar Tree nearby, but I'm glad they're selling cheaper cards.

Last year I bought all my Christmas cards at Dollar Tree. For $4 I got all I needed and they were nice cards.

Agree with the statements made here.
Same cards every year. And more expensive. I like sending a card but I've found less and less to choose from. It used to be nice to browse and hand pick my cards for all events but now I look and leave without purchasing any.
I think their ornaments have been steadily on the decline, too. There doesn't seem to be as much interest in them, including the series, as there used to be.

Thank you for the heads-up. Cards at Trader Joe's are fun and only $0.99.

Sadly, the local Hallmark store near me recently closed. In addition to cards, they sold Hallmark ornaments, candy, and many, many giftables. The prices were higher than one would pay elsewhere so that is, most llkely, the reason for the closure. I make my own cards. They are elegant with lace, beading, ribbons, etc.. People have told me I should sell them but I don't think I could give them away for the price it cost for the materials plus my labor. I make them because I enjoy doing it and they get donated in basket raffles. People always comment on how lovely and upscale they are and I'm always tempted to ask what they would pay for one card but I hold my tongue. When my son needs cards for special occasions, he always 'shops' at Mom's...always a lovely, unique card and he can't beat the price.

Yeah, cards are out of this world high. just a little ol' basic card can be
5 bucks and then the glitters or pretty pictures are close to 10 !
Sister told me she reads and pitches. No more 10 buck cards for that one
Like throwing cash in the trash. Hubbo told me "you get your cards at
everything's a dollar' or Dollar general ". LOL

@docsgirl, I have a friend that has an Etsy shop for her handmade cards. She does well but I think she is underpricing herself.
I can buy one from her and even with the postage charge, they are less than half of a Hallmark Signature card.
The inside of hers are blank and that's okay with me.
