@Effie54 Why are you blaming the press.  They are only bringing you information.  With a projection that 40 to 60% of the population getting this virus my thinking is the last thing we have to worry about is our hair.

I was waiting for the first scold chastising someone for caring about this.

It's a legitimate point of discussion under the circumstances.  I've thought about it myself and am not ashamedd to have done so.

And there are dozens and dozens of other threads about other aspects of this situation, so I welcome this one.

And yes, I agree that the media is compounding the fear and panic.  Sure, they present the facts as they know them.  And then pump them up to incite and inflame.  (My view point, of course.)

@If you're referring to my post, I am in no way chastising anyone, just stating my opinion.  Sorry if I have offended anyone.  As for the media, sure they like to inflame, but when I see the government officials worried and taking action I listen.

This is kind of ironic in a way.  Of course, the salons will close.  Then, if you are like me, you will HAVE to stay home--hair will look too bad!!

@KarenQVC lol - then we'll all be in the same boat.  I knew I should have bought one of the wigs QVC was selling awhile back. :-)

@Sooner

All that, and kids too?

I was pretty much picturing a few stylists and maybe a dozen customers in varying stages of having hair care performed.

Well, only the OP knows what her situation is.

I had a routine, 6 month checkup at my thyroid doctor today. I called Friday and rescheduled it. First opening was mid June which was fine with me.

Now that it is the day I WOULD have gone, I'm glad I rescheduled. I'm in no mood for it.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I guess that I should cancel the hair appointment that I have for next Saturday for highlights and color. I hate to do this especially as my stylist really needs to work and I really need my roots touched up. This is one thing that I had not thought of until this morning. Is anyone else struggling with this?

This has nothing to do with washing your hands. Having your hair colored and shampooed is pretty up close and personal no to way to maintain personal space.  If we all take the attitude that life goes on and business as usual we will most likely look like Italy in a couple of weeks. Our health care system is not prepared to handle this.

Well it looks like you've made up your mind, @50Mickey .

Just so you're aware your penultimate sentence is hyperbole.

Hair appointments need to be a low priority at this time. The nail salon in my area is closed indefinitely.
