I guess that I should cancel the hair appointment that I have for next Saturday for highlights and color. I hate to do this especially as my stylist really needs to work and I really need my roots touched up. This is one thing that I had not thought of until this morning. Is anyone else struggling with this?

Nope

My salon here in PA shut down for next two weeks. All non-essential businesses were supposed to close. They are trying to reschedule appts. I feel for all the workers who will lose out on income.

Should have added that I am one month shy of my 70th.birthday. This is the only reason that I am being more cautious now.

@50Mickey Yes. I wanted to get a trim but we are not going out and about right now except to pick up meds.
I haven't even called to make the appointment.
In the meantime, I'll chase some cars to release the tension. LOL

No, I'm not. If I had a hair appointment, I'd go to it. My stylist works in a very small, quiet salon and it's usually pretty empty when I go on weekday afternoons. However; I'm not in a high risk or vulnerable group.
That's a decision that we each need to make on our own, based on our own situations.

I have a hair appointment this Wed, for trim, color highlight. I was going to keep my appointment.
But, I just thought about the fact my husband is at the moment working an outage at a nuclear plant, and there are around 2500 people working where he works. Some are from different places all over the U.S. They are not testing anyone, just have hand sanitizer all over the place at the moment. Now, there is a chance he can start working from home soon, or be sequestered out there.
My logic was getting hair fixed up before things got worse, so I'd have it done. Now, I'm thinking I don't want to expose hair dresser to this, as I could have it and not know it. I am not sure what to do. It seems selfish to go. Yet, I am not sick, dh is not sick and I know she could use the money.
I actually just told DH we don't need to be around our parents either. This just stinks like all get out.

My Mom is 83. She gets her hair done weekly at a small salon. She has been getting her hair done for over 60 years. She is pretty healthy. We advised her not to go. She went. She also stopped for groceries-even though I offered to get whatever she needed. She used her hand sanitizer & I dropped wipes off for her last week.
My youngest son is an infectious disease pharmacist at a hospital. I will see if he can encourage her to stay home. He told us to prepare for quarantine weeks ago.

I have a hair trim appointment this afternoon. It’s an extremely small salon. I’m going to go. I guess this could be my last trim for a while.
