Hi @qualitygal
So happy for you. And so sweet to start a positive thread! What was good about my week? hmmmmmm..... The first thing that comes to mind is work. booooo. but hey, a pleasant work week is a good thing! I also got some good news of a more private nature but I am super relieved on that front. I feel like-- yes, everything always does work out. YAY for that!
I have been praying a lot and I find it a beneficial practice. I always pray for mercy for those in most need. So I'll end my response here... for those in most need of something wonderful, start where you are :-)

My middle name is also Louise. :-)
I have one thing from Jennie Garth's line-- a crochet cardigan sweater. I love it. I definitely plan to buy more from her line. I really like her and I was a 90210 watcher! hahaha.
Hope you enjoy the jacket!

@Scooby Doo wrote:Went to a Barry Manilow concert and it was excellent. This is his last tour forever and I'm fortunate to see it. I first saw him in the 80's. He still sounds just as good as ever. Certainly wasn't an old man's show, even if he is 82. It's his Las Vegas show that he took on the road.
Saw him last month in Michigan. Fabulous show!
My DH and I saw him in the late 70's. I remember getting in line at the Ticketron outlet the day the tickets went on sale. There was such a line and the tickets sold out fast. I ended up with the worst seats in the venue but it didn't matter. It was great. I always wanted to see him again but it never happened.
Oh, wasn't that ticket system awful. I stood in line for hours trying to get tickets to Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow. People would get to the front of the line and be indecisive about the seats and hold up the process. After that they just printed out tickets and you get what you get. Sometimes a group of us would go to the show together and we drew straws to see which unlucky person had to stand in line for the tickets.
Barry Manilow will still have his residency show in Las Vegas all of 2026.

Hw did I miss your post??
Lucky you!! I believe his Vegas performance was shown on PBS. So I know you had a wonderful time.
I saw him in the early 80's in Philly. My cousin and I were hoarse for 2 days.

It was awful, @Scooby Doo, but it's all we had unless maybe over the phone. We were young, probably didn't even have a credit card yet, to do that.
Funny you bring up being the ticket line delegate. I did that too when our group was going to see the concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar in downtown Chicago around '73/'74. I had a wad of cash to pay with. A bunch of high school aged kids from the suburbs riding the IC downtown at night was an adventure and walking the rest of the way to and from the venue, we didn't think a thing of it. Not anymore. ☹️
