HSN used to have the best clearance sales with lots of free shipping. I noticed that is no longer true. I wonder if these disappointing changes have to do with them combining with QVC?

I hang out on Zulily, also associated with QVC.  They have a shopping cart approach...buy one item and the rest are free shipping for that day...But on the weekend you get Friday - Sunday... same shipping charge.  The prices and products are wonderful.  I don't do QVC as much anymore.

I recently watched some sale and clearance shows on HSN and thought they had just as great prices as they normally do.  I did not notice the shipping costs, however.

@bonnielu@homedecorator@Shogirl  I'm confident the lack of free shipping does correlate with QVC's parent company purchasing HSN.  I am still getting the 20% off coupons from HSN, though (max. savings of $25, and only goo for 1 or 2 days).

I also am a big fan of Zulily, but don't order from them if you're in a hurry.......they charge your CC immediately, and the item doesn't arrive for about 3 weeks.

I flipped into HSN's clearance twice and felt pretty much the same way I did when I drove to my local Lord and Taylor which had about 1000 items on deep sale and maybe another 1000 about 30% off -  "yep, those things need to be on sale.  No one should have paid what they called the original price!"

Even at the sales prices retailers are offering, I'm having a hard time finding what I think I'll wear very often. At L&T, I bought only a dress from Miss Elaine on the lingerie rack - 30% off and since I did nothing else on that trip, we can add something for the cost of the trip and call it shipping I suppose.

Re: HSN changes

[ Edited ]

HSN always had shopping carts on their clearance days where once you spent X amount of dollars (usually $99.00), you paid one s/h charge.  They haven't done that this clearance go around.

They also used to offer half off the s/h charge on subsequent purchases from the same category. For instance if you bought 2 clothing items, one was ful price s/h and the second was half off.  They no longer do this with clothing.  It's full s/h for every item.

This clothing clearance event was a complete bust for me.  I went through every item  on clearance and there wasn't a thing I wanted.

no go for me,  I am not waiting 3 weeks for anything these days, and most of it is final sale, at least it was the last time I looked

I love house items so Ive watched alot today  They arent even sales  Most of the items are what they normslly charge  Who are they fooling  ?  The funniest one was a set of Joys towels  They came up with this price of over 280 dollars  marked down to 49  Her towels are thin and cheap and normally sell for maybe 59 at the most

HSN is not offering free shipping as much as before.  Lancome always had free shipping on HSN, but recently I saw items that had shipping fee.

@I discovered the change today when I was going to purchase two sets of sheets @ $24.99 each which is a great deal! But shipping is a total of $15.00!!! In the past (always with clearance items) shipping was reduced when purchasing two or more items.
