HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

I just ordered this as it is on sale for $49.98 for Black Friday.

I had $15.00 credit on my account on a return so I used this also. It comes with the ink and also instant ink is available.

Anyone have this? E234610 Is the item number.
Some sites had bad reviews and some were really good.

I figure I would just return as defective if there was a problem.

Re: HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

I ordered one also - wasn't watching Q but quick switch over just to see what was on.  I've had an HP for years and been a great printer.  My tech recently said - oh that's old.

Decided to grab a new one - have big printing job in Spring.

I checked Amazon before ordering - saw $70 - $99 so decided Q a great deal - just like my current one. Free shipping helped.

I agree. My HP Envy printer is 9 years old and still working fine. Hope this works as good.

I did see HSN had it also.

Re: HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

We don't have that particular HP printer, but we have HP printers that we purchased as Black Friday Deals (from Walmart).  We haven't had the best of luck.  It's always go to off line and many other problems that need trouble shooting.  It also eats up ink quickly which gets expensive.  My husband has a better HP printer in his office (which wasn't a Black Friday purchase) and is much, much better).  Since the pandemic and my daughter is in remote learning, the printer has become more important to have.  I can't just hit print without having some type of issue.  My husband is an HP fan and generally likes their printers and computers. But I feel there is a reason they are the "deal" price they are.

I'll add this - free toner (ink).  Will have to read the literature but it sounded like the free ink going forward will be free but...........somehow you pay HP per sheet.  Otherwise you buy your own toner.

If I'm understanding this correctly - would never go for the free/pay per sheet deal.  I buy toner directly from HP - $$ not bad and free shipping.

@fthunt --I have had HP printers for the last few years without any problems---and I love the instant ink program. the ink comes just before the caridges run out. I pay $2.99 a month to print 50 sheets which is fine with me--goes up to $3.99 for 100 pages. No charge for the ink either. and I believe the pages you don't use per month, rolls over to the next month---I think-----

@wagirl Thanks. David) didn't give an details - I barely heard him mention the option of pay per sheet.  & wondered if I heard correctly.  Like I said, will have to read the literature that comes with machine.

Your info gives me something to consider while waiting.

Appreciate your reply.

Re: @@=Re: HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

You buy your cartridges as usual at the store or online BUT if you want to pay the per month charge for Instank Ink it means you can sign up and pay per month for whatever you usually print and HP will know when to send you more. Then they charge way less than you buying the cartridges and don't have to worry that you will run out of ink. Right now most ink is out and not available so I wouod think you would not run out being on the plan. Many people love this.

My HP Envy was not available for this as I have had it since 2011. I will definitely subscribe to Instant Ink when I upgrade my own printer soon.I don't print much but I am constantly buying ink for my son's Billing that have to be send through the mail. This way my son will have his own printer and buy his own. Saves me money when the HP Black Friday printer comes. Hope this helps.

I am on the Instant Ink program too.  Was told the cartridges they send you have more ink in them than the ones you buy retail.
