That solves one problem, but creates another.  

You could accidently sit on your dog because they blend in.  I have a dog who matches my floors....poor dog.  I have stepped on her a few times.

@Pezzie.  Or you could do as ive done and teach your hairy beasts to stay off the furniture.

Watching TV while petting my dog on the couch gives us both much pleasure.

 

We got a new U shaped couch a few years ago.  I cover them, seats and back cushions, up with 2 twin size knit sheets that I had.  It works really well, as I think the dog hair would really stick to our couch.  I just take them off and wash them every few weeks or so.  When the "good" company comes over, I just take the covers off.  I use the pillow cases on the two arm rests.
