A balloon festive is held every year at our County Seat & I paid $10.00 to go up in a tethered balloon, it was interesting & fun. Local balloon owners take off at an elementary school & land on my street sometimes, I live near a landing area.

I did. It was a 50 year birthday present . That was 38  years ago.  I prayed for rain.  It was a beautiful day and once I was up there, i was OK. It was so beautiful over the Napa valley.  Then we had a picnic lunch afterwards.

I didn't sleep all night the night befoe. I'm scared to this day going in a plane.

Whenever I do something different, I say to myself, here we go.

I have done a lot of stuff for the first time that were out of my confort zone.

Still here.

I will say, Today, not because of age, but things are different. Make sure it's an experience person, not someone just starting out.

Today, you could be walking down the street and something could happen, so go with your gut.  It's beautiful and once you are up, you will enjoy it.

I've only been once, so far, in 2012. In Kenya (have plans to go again next year, in Namibia).

We did have an ... interesting landing.  And, then a picnic breakfast.  Saw a leopard in a tree on way back to the lodge.

Yes, we crawled out. 😂

When I was younger I would have loved to do it. You know, those years when you feel invincible. Now, not so much. I've heard of too many accidents and sketchy balloon pilots.

One balloon event even traveled right over my mom's property several years ago. I happened to be visiting and it was wonderful to witness, until one balloon went down on a neighboring property. That, with other reported incidents, was enough for me. Never would I ever...nope.

@Desertdi  -  I get sea sick big time. That's the most horrible feeling.  I'm getting queasy just thinking of being in a balloon.  Smiley Sad

I went probably early 90's in Steamboat springs, CO.  I was so nervous, but it was one of the best things I've done.  It was about an hour.  It was fabulous.  There were two of us and the pilot.
