Has anyone ever taken a hot air balloon ride?

I'm thinking of taking one but I can't stand for that long.

How much did you pay?

Was it awesome?

Please tell me about it.

IT'S GOING TO BE A GREAT DAY!

I wouldn't take a hot air balloon ride. About three weeks ago, three people were seriously injured with burn injuries in Indiana when the balloon struck power lines.

I would find a different adventure.

Balloon "season" in Phoenix is October to March (can't fly in hot weather).  The cost is approximately $250.

@catlover7777.  I'm in Albuquerque  but keep my feet firmly on the ground.  I bet most balloon pilots would allow you to bring a compact lawn chair for sitting...I'd have the same problem.  Just ask.

I'd like to go on one but I'd probably be too nervous.  DH has been on one and said it wasn't bad.  It goes pretty high and landing is a bit bumpy.

@Kachina624     I don't get airsick...but I DO get seasick...so I'm very hesitant to "experiment"...         di

Re: HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE

[ Edited ]

I have taken a couple of hot air balloon rides and loved it. It was exhilarating!

Both times were in Africa. Drifting over a herd of elephants or other wild life was pretty awesome at the crack of dawn.

Had to sign a waiver, was weighed (to make sure the total weight of all passengers didn't exceed a certain amount), and then instructed how to position ourselves when we land.

I believe I paid around $250, but am not sure; it was a few years ago.

The entire ride was around one hour. Everyone was asked to help spread out the balloon as it was being filled with hot air; and we also helped after landing to gather up the balloon to put it and the basket we stood in onto a trailer.

I love adventures, so I would do it again! Go for it! Skydiving is fun too. Smiley Happy

Remember the nut who tied helium balloons to a lawn chair, drifted off and took a bb gun along to pop them to land?

How about that?  Cheaper for sure.
