In our housing plan one builder started the plan about 5 years ago during the housing bubble but he went bankrupt when the economy collapsed and sold out the lots to another builder who has built many new homes in the last year but who sold them at a much lower price than the previous builder. The homes are pretty much equal in quality but just because of the costs of houses dropping so much so fast our homes only cost about half the cost of the original builder's homes. When ever there is an HOA meeting it always dissolves into a battle between the original homeowners and the new homeowners. It is so childish that they just resent us so badly because for some reason they blame us that they overpayed for their homes.Anyway, at the last week HOA meeting the manager said there is money set aside for a holiday party and we should get together and organize one. Well the next day we noticed there was a paper on the older gang mailboxes that was an invite to the holiday party but they are not on the newer gang mailboxes. In other words they are planning to use the money to give themselves a party and not invite any of the new people.I called the manager and told him about this and he said he would notify them that unless the party is for all the HOA he could not release the funds. Personally, I don't want to MAKE them invite us - I don't want to go if they don't want us. I think he should give them half the money but actually they are only about 1/4 of the population here - there are many more new homes. Can anyone think of a compromise for this situation.
