A plane to be used for sinister reasons. I'd stated in the first thread started that the plane was probably going to make it to Saudi Arabia/Yemen/ or the African coast. That would be a red flag that there is a terrorist group involved. My take.
No one would have to hijack a plane mid-air if they wanted it for sinister reasons.
There are plenty of planes on the ground.
This was a huge plane...even many local airports in the USA don't have a runway large enough to accommodate this type plane.
Time will tell. For some reason, someone wanted a big plane. I think it will be located in around 2-3 days.

Planes on the ground are surrounded by strong security. Getting out to the tarmac would involve high risk of being detected whereas getting on a plane in Malaysia appears to be oh so easy and then you only have to intimidate the passengers and overpower the crew.
BTW, CNN reported this morning that the Malaysian plane had no internet capability for passengers and no cell phone service while over water. Explains why there were no messages from the passengers.

Thank you very much, Yuban, Sydney and Frosty for answering my question.

I doubt this plane was hijacked. When they hijack they make demands. Also I don't think that it was an act of terrorism because if it was they would have used to as a weapon by now and would have been bragging about it!
I don't know why it turned and why mechanical things were shut down so it cant be found. But I have heard Chinese people on the plane have top secret information someone may have wanted. I have also heard this is the new piracy (instead of robbing ships they're going to rob planes). ALL nothing more than GUESSES.
IMO sadly I think the passengers are dead and the plane CRASHED. I also think Malaysia authorities don't know what they're doing! The USA will get to the bottom of it like always!
But I am a REALIST so until I hear exactly what happened I don't buy into all the speculation.
My prayers are with the families of the passengers, they are suffering. May they get answers soon.

I'd like to think our destroyer is close to the actual site, but it's such a large area and soo much time has past. I'm not hopeful about any wreckage recovery right now.

I just asked a family member who's a NASA engineer why they can't find the plane. He explained why, which I don't understand, but said military satellites are the best bet.

The public is not being told anything going on in this case, so we don't if any demands have been made or not.

Since everyone else is speculating, I'll add my $0.02 as well.
If it was terrorist who over took the plane, it could be just a couple, three or four guys who decided to form their own "organization". They don't necessarily have to be from a well known organization, like Al Qaeda.
What I can see happening is, they over take the plane. There is NO ability for someone to call out on their phone, because there was no cell service over water, as one poster said.
They get in to the cockpit, and attempt to fly the plane themselves, much like they did on 9-11, which would account for the plane climbing to 45,000 feet, then descending, and zig-zaging all over the place. They were trying to fly by landmarks.
They either knew enough to turn off tracking, or, had one of the crew do it, with a gun to his head.
But since they couldn't find where they wanted to go, they ran out of gas, and crashed in the ocean.
Or, because of their limited knowledge of how to fly a 777, they flew right in to the face of a mountain.
Which is why I'm wondering why they are not looking on land, as well as in the water for the plane.
In my mind's eye, I can see it being several years from now, and some person is going to be walking along in a jungle, or jungle like setting, that has lots of over grown foliage, and they will accidentally stumble upon the broken remains of the plane.
But, if that is what happened, flew in to a mountain, there is a beacon on the plane that automatically sends a signal to the location of the crash, and it starts sending it upon impact.

This is a modern day horror story in my opinion. No matter what the outcome, those poor passengers must have gone through h@ll. I refuse to believe another speculation until the answer comes. This back and forth stuff is all too upsetting.
I also think that when information is not shared right away there could be a good reason. Having all these theories going viral does not help anyone. One theory and the media is all over it, only to have it squashed. Enough already. My prayers go out to the families and I hope they get something concrete soon.

What I find unacceptable is that the pilot had a flight simulator in his residence. Was he taking in clients? That could mean someone or someones were training for familiarity to perform a hijacking. It's very unsettling.
