Re: HELP NEED AN ANSWER ASAP

I live in southern Delaware and our WalMart sure doesn't look like that!  I went out early yesterday morning and the TP shelves were bare.  And some cheap looking no name paper towels.

I've said it before - when life gets back to a somewhat "normal" way, I am going to be hoarding Scott TP & Viva paper towels!  I'll dump the twin beds in my 2nd bedroom & fill it with tp & paper towels!

If we were in WWIII, I get it.  This is insane.

I feel sure this product is being offered by a company outside the US.   What I referred to in my earlier post today was thru Boxed dot com, which is Japanese.   Reviews were poor, and I also seem to recall a post referring to a complaint over a one time purchase and then other unauthorized charges on a credit card.   That was all I needed to read.

@RedTop, Boxed dot com is an American business with all their fulfillment centers in the USA.  I believe they did gain some Japanese investors a couple of years ago, but not ownership.  I've ordered from them 4 or 5 times in the past couple of years with complete satisfaction.  They're competitive with the other big etailers, though not always the least expensive.  The products have always been top quality, the customer service excellent, the packing and shipping professional and fast, and I like the free samples they add to each order.  In most cases, items are offered in bulk or at least small multiples, and with the recent demand for online shopping they've increased the minimum purchase to be eligible for free shipping and many of their usual offerings are out of stock, but I do think they're a reliable company in my experience.🙂

We get up early too and go to one of our area markets that opens early for senior/vulnerable shoppers. We buy whatever is available, too. I also miss my usual brands but I'm also grateful and thankful just to get whatever is out there.

Praying for all of us.

Re: HELP NEED AN ANSWER ASAP

@SouthernBee

Not sure where you're located this was about 12:30 today.  Our Super WM has had limited stock (early AM) but I find it better to go to the Neighborhood WM Market which is 10 min from bigger one.

It seems to be well stocked most the times I've gone.  Plus, afternoon pretty empty of shoppers.

I gave up on Publix for buying groceries or paper products.  They are overpriced and hardly stocked.

My other go to place has been Winn Dixie.  As I stated, paper products are not on my list but I look for others.

I don't  need any food just milk, bread and my spouse likes fresh lunchmeat.  I refuse to pay $11+ for a lb. of ham in Publix!

Re: HELP NEED AN ANSWER ASAP

We are limited to one package person of paper products.  I don’t know why our stores are stocked but it hasn’t always been like that.

I finally found a thermometer in the baby department at Walmart. Yeah!!

Good luck on shopping for paper.

Re: HELP NEED AN ANSWER ASAP

@homedecor1 :  I live  near Fort Benning. Stores may have some supplies but you are limited to one pack of paper products and one case of  water.

Very few cleaning supplies. No handsantizer, only small bottles of liquid soap and no wet wipes. I have a friend looking for us and she has gone to all the Walgreens, CVS etc. Walmart, Publix, Winn Dixie, Piggly Wiggly, and the very few small family owned places. All of the dollar stores are very limited. Normally during flu season -I am well stocked but my supplies are dwindling. We have shared with friends and family. I have done a lot of shopping on line- if I found something and put it in my cart, item would be sold out before I could process order. My online order with Walmart for canned chicken breast was on back order but finally canceled because not available. Normally purchase chuck and chicken breast from Fresh Market but last week the limit was 5 pounds each. Some can goods are limited or not available like cream of chicken and mushroom soup. Some times bread is very limited or not fresh- especially whole wheat. Finally found bread machine on line and ordered but delivery date May. This week Walmart had one bag of Whole wheat flour, powdered milk and yeast which I purchased. We have food but had to purchase what was available instead of favorite brands. Some frozen foods not available. Many places now have limits on purchasing eggs and milk. The only time we shop Publix or Winn Dixie are for sale items because prices are high. We are Blessed and have food and water. I have two packs Lysol wipes, one large liquid soap refill, three individual hand sanitizer, but 24 bars of soap. Could not find items to make mask but ordered two mask on line and after two weeks- hopefully delivery today or tomorrow. I have one small box of gloves that fit me but none to fit DH large hands. The only time we go out is for medicine and what few items we need. Just like so many people- I have never cooked so much. Tired of my cooking and desperate for quick and easy meals. Never thought that grocery shopping would be so complicated and stressful. Stay safe. I always enjoy reading your post. ❤️🙏 Southern Bee

Surely you can do without your "favorite" for a while.

I honestly don't get this either.  If someone must (God-forbid) get up early and go find whatever it is the household needs - that is what you do period.

o/t when I saw the HELP and ASAP thread title I thought it would be something different than a TP question.

@Mj12 It honestly doesn't even make sense.

Why would you order something that will take 3-4 weeks to get to you if you're going to run out before then?  Go out today and look for some.  Get anything you can.  Go online and order another kind just so you have something.

I've always thought TP is TP, but years ago I learned it's a big deal to some people.  After my brother got married and moved to another state, he and his new bride came to visit for the weekend.  She went to the bathroom and whispered something to my brother when she came out.  They suddenly needed to leave and would be back later.  My mom was so concerned wondering what in the world happened.  A little while later they came back with a bag from the grocery store and they had gone out to get her some Charmin because it's the only TP my new sister-in-law would use.  I'll never forget her explaining to my mom how it's the best brand to put out in a guest bathroom.  🤣

Yes, I like my certain brands too.

But if I was in danger of running out, I would get something to tide me over until I could find my brand.  The danger of running out is more important than the brand at this point.

I agree that when in danger of running out make do with something else, however, every single time we have gone from store to store the shelves were bare.

@Bri369  My daughter is not the type who will go out of her way to help her mother.  Because of my health condition I don't drive so can't go out on my own.  Heaven's don't you think if I could shop I wouldn't be asking for help?
