Two cats--one gray/white 15 year old, one tabby 17 year old. Had each of them since they were 2-3 months old.

One dog--Great Pyrenese/Lab Mix 6 years old. Got him at about 16 months.

All rescues in one way or another--one cat was born a barn cat, we gave him a much better life, lol! Other cat was adopted from an actual rescue and is an absolute princess.

Dog was found online, couple had this 130-lb dog in a small apartment--wife couldn't handle him when husband got deployed, he was just too big, so they made the wise choice to give him up. We have 4 acres and a pond, so he's been very happy here for the last 5 years!

They will be our last...DH & I are both in our 70's, hoping not to leave them behind (but have a plan if we do). Also, vet expenses are so high now, not to mention dog/cat food, etc.

@Bonkers1  one older Min Pin but I do take care of my daughter's 2 often.  She has an Italian Greyhound (senior) and a blue nose Pitbull 😊

I have two cats-- the maximum allowed in my rental:

Mia--about age 9; gray and white

I adopted her four years ago. She was a feral cat; she was captured only because she was ready to deliver kittens.

Graycie--about age 6; also gray and white

I adopted her three years ago. She was put outside, in Philadelphia, by a resident in a halfway house when the resident left.  This cat was on her own for about a year and kept showing up when rescue groups came in to Trap, Neuter, and Release. Graycie eventually was scooped up by someone who brought her about 30 miles closer. I asked about her on the NextDoor App and she was delivered to my door that night.

My girls dislike one another, but I am willing to separate and rotate them on a schedule in my townhouse.

Two kitties, one male 7 years old, one female probably 6 she was a stray.  My male cat was kept outside exclusively before I got him, so I do let him out for a few hours in the evening but lately a few strays have been around and he got a few bits so I am not letting him out for a while.

They both love each other thankfully.  My other kitty died a year ago and he bullied them both but I still miss him he was a love bug with me.

Awww bless their little heads.  I am older and don't drive anymore (so not able to get to vet in an emergency/so not fair to any pets) so just the human head type here. Since I was 18 and moved out from parents I've had up to five furry friends at any given time. Mostly cats.  I miss all of them very much and wish I could adopt more, but then remind myself of how grateful I am for the joy they brought to my life.

@PhilaLady1   You must really love animals to think ahead of their future and the care.  We have one cat now, and 13 pond fish.  When our dog died a while back, we decided nor to get another one. We were 70.  The end years was so hard for our dog, as she was a retriever.  The aiding her to go to rest room, to walk.  She could no longer go upstairs , we had to make, adjustments. It was hard on her, but harder on us I think. She was 17 when she passed .  I thought, could I do this in another 17 years?  . We had a few cats  then, now one. I don't want to have to leave a dog or cat with another person when we are gone. Hard on the animal. Jmho

We have a Havanese whose 16th birthday is June 1.

He will be our last pet.  😢

When I first saw the topic, I thought it was a check to see how many of us were still willing to deal with the wonky forums.
