Thank you so much.
You are correct. Dotted Swiss fabric was very popular in the 1950's. The fabric, usually a rather sheer cotton
had tiny flocked dots.
My white First Communion dress was made from that fabric. If you would like to see Toni in a replica of my dress, go to the top of this page and in the Search Forums & Blogs space, type in Toni's First Communion. I also included a picture of myself in my own dress, in that post.
There was also a dotted Swiss fabric that came out in the 70's. It was a little heavier fabric and the dots were
were appplied to the top, like they were printed on with a rubbery feeling type of paint. It was not as nice as the 50's fabric. I try to find vintage 50's fabrics for Toni Doll dresses,
since Toni is a 50's girl.
The dresses made by your mother must have been lovely.
When my three daughters were little, in the 60's and early 70's,
I made most of their dresses. It was fun.

@shoekitty Your white dotted Swiss bedspread must have been gorgeous. It sounds like a dream.
When I was in high school, I was loving lilac and lavender.
My bedspread was a light lilac color and the wide side ruffles were each a shade of lilac, lavender and purple.
