@Enufstuff,

You described Poor Pitiful Pearl perfectly!

We had to include her when we played because we didn't want to hurt her feelings lol!Woman LOL

@lynnie61  Thank you very much. I'm glad that you enjoyed seeing my lastest Toni. She was also featured last month, in her St. Patrick's Day outfit. I didn't need another doll, but I could not resist this one in such pristine condition and I had never seen one with the rare apricot color hair. I had to get her and I love her dress. More blonde Toni dolls were manufactured, so they are still the ones commonly available.

   The Toni dresses that your aunt made must have been lovely.

How sweet and kind that she sewed them for you. It was a labor of love and I'm sure that you enjoyed dressing your Toni in them.

   I have not dyed eggs since my children were young, but they have done them with their children. Two of my daughters have experimented in recent years, to dye eggs with natural things,

like beet juice, onion skins and other natural sources.

  It is fun and magical for little children to see eggs being dyed.

That is interesting about dying marshmallows. I have never seen that done.

  Easter was such fun when my five children were young, making their Easter baskets, dying the eggs and dressing them all in special outfits for church and visiting family.

 For my girls, I sewed many of their Easter dresses, when they were little. one year I sewed capes for them. Back in the 60's I even made a lined navy blue Nehru jacket for my husband and I made a lined lime green coat for myself. It was fun.

@on the bay   That is too funny! You didn't want to" hurt her feelings". That doll did teach little girls kindness, compassion and empathy. (except my little demon girl who used the doll to

terrorize her brother!)

Happy Easter @Enufstuff and Toni - to you and your loved ones!

I have had a busy week, like a lot of us. I should have taken a sleeping bag to church! LOL!

Toni's dress is adorable and in amazing condition! You definitely take care of her precious outfits. Her blue eyes really stand out. She looks so pretty!

Some of our children today were dressed like Toni in pretty dresses and cute pants and bow ties. I always enjoy seeing them!

I'll take one of her chocolate bunnies, but she can give my "peep" to someone else!  Smiley Wink

@beach-mom   Thank you so much.

                         Last year, when I found this Toni doll, I could not resist buying her with her rare apricot hair color and her beautiful original dress. The blue dress really brings out the color of her eyes. She was in excellent condition for a 70 year old doll. Toni dolls and their wigs were well made to be played with and to last.

   You can't see in the picture, but she still has her original tiny engraved brass barrettes on her hair. Most Toni dolls found today, no longer have their little barrettes.

    It is nice that some people still dress their children for Easter. I loved dressing my five, especially the girls and I made many of their dresses, when they were little.

    Peeps were never my favorite thing, but I still give a package of them to my grown up son. He likes to take them out of the package, let them get hard and dry, then he eats them. Yuck!

    I want to let you know that I so appreciate the advice from your husband when my Katie was sick last October. She was diagnosed with kidney problems , but after a couple of weeks of getting her appetite back, gaining back her weight, she became playful again and she  seems healthy and back to normal health now. She will be nine years old in May.

She had her rabies shot a couple of weeks ago and they want her to come back soon to have blood work done, since it will be six months since she was sick.

   She doesn't like the k/d food, but I mix some with her Fancy Feast and she will eat it. Please thank your husband again, for me and I appreciate your asking him about my cat, for me.

@Enufstuff - What a kind post! I will certainly thank him. He probably wouldn't like my saying this, but the first thing he said was Katie was young for major problems and even with the diagnosis, it would be easily manageable.

I'm so glad Katie is feeling better!

You really were lucky to welcome this Toni to your family! Your special creations are always so beautiful, and I enjoy seeing them!

I know DH's sister is a major collector, and probably has a Toni of her own. She used to travel to conventions around the world. She knew Robin Woods, who came to Texas and signed one of her dolls for DD. She has a whole lot of Madame Alexander dolls. I have a few, and DD does too. DH gave me a special one when we were first married. Maybe it's because he was so used to his sister collecting them!  Smiley Happy

@Enufstuff

A belated nod to the beautiful Toni, whose Easter outfit is absolutely darling!  And what a pretty girl she is!

Reminds me so much of my years-ago Easter finery.  It was certainly a way of acknowledging the most important day in the Christian liturgical calendar.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful dolls from your collection.  It sure is wonderful to be surrounded by all these Dollies you love and so devotedly take care of.  And what an excellent way to showcase your many artistic talents!

Sending you my best wishes!

Pam

@Enufstuff ,   I love strawberry-blonde Toni in her pink-and-bue Easter finery, oh my goodness.  Every detail perfect, puffed sleeves, the ribbon, eyelet, tiny basket with eggs...

You were so right in the Wedgwood thread about how your pink Herend bunny would be an ideal addition to Toni's vignette-- would even complement her shoes and ribbon!

Hope you and all Toni fans had a wonderful Easter.
