Re: HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, ROUTE 66!

Turns out, according to Google, that there is an I-66 highway in VA, a 76 mile east-west highway starting from I-81in Middletown and going into DC. The first piece of it was finished in 1961, and it has become a heavy commuter route.

Re: HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, ROUTE 66!

Sorry but I am sick of hearing about it and simply do not get all the big whoop about an old and outdated high through a lot of little towns.

I don't see this as a big tourist attraction going forward because you have to be pretty elderly like me to even know what they are talking about.  And a lot of money is being spent on it that would be better served elsewhere--my opinion only.

But I live around Oklahoma City and it's on the news every night.  I guess since we haven't had tornadoes every day in May, they don't have much else to yap about.

@ThinkingOutLoud.  Your Rte 66 is probably a State Highway and nowhere near US Rte 66.

It was @Q-Checker that wondered about the road in VA, not me.
