We recently went to a presentation/tour of our university medical school. They demostrated the use of Virtual Reality in teaching.
Imagine standing next to a human body and touching a organ or nerve bundle and "seeing" its natural position. Cadavers are still used.
We next saw robots as patients. These can be programmed for all sorts of ailments including maternity and delivery. The bodies move and respond as human functions except speech.
In an "oh by the way' moment our guide showed us a picture of a hand drawn with 6 fingers. He said our AI had a little trouble with its asignment. We all kinda laughed. He said we are not quite ready for AI.
Fast forward a few months, I was seeing a new PCP associated with another larger -very large- medical school. Almost her first words were that we use AI now. I told her I don't like this!
This is NOT just a scribe program so that the doc doesn't have to input data. This AI is a decision maker.

@granddi. Over the weekend I read a report that insurance companies are going to use AI to determine what treatment a patient should receive and which is useless.
This really scares me as I've seen so. Many instances where AI is supposedly stating fact and gets the details confused and is way out of line. It does not know everything about everything.

Also, Q sells a lot of drones.

I get this similar theme:
Computer Scientists create Bad Thing in AI Lab. Bad Thing escapes all safeguards in said lab. Bad Thing attacks innocent software on it's own. Now we will be very afraid and must spend billions to control Bad Thing!
Sam Altman has a scheduled appointment in DC this week. Part of his visit will not be made public. You know, the part where the multi billionaire needs even more billions.
