Re: Gwyneth Paltrow won her case

Can you imagine what her attorney fees are?  I'm sure her attorney was a very highly rates and highly paid attorney, not someone you get at your local attorney office down the street.  Travel fees, filing fees, expert fees, I'm sure it will add up to a lot of money...maybe even as much as $300K.  That would be poetic justice.

What do you suppose her attorney cost...maybe $500 per hour?  more?

Not surprised at all. I know she was counter-suing for her legal fees; hope the judge ruled in her favor regarding it.

Re: Gwyneth Paltrow won her case

Even Gwenyth/Goop haters predicted she would win. It was a frivolous lawsuit. He probably assumed she would settle to avoid negative publicity.

He didn't stand a chance after her lawyers introduced photos into evidence of him riding a camel in Morocco, trekking up to Machu Picchu in Peru and white-water rafting, some of which took place in the year after the accident.

After the trial Gwenyth reached out to him in the court room & wished him well.

When asked what she lost when the accident occurred she answered, " well I lost a 1/2 day of skiing." How elite can you get?

@Janey2 - That's out of context.  The ditso woman lawyer was being all cutesy and asking stupid, irrelevant questions.  About her ski outfit, how tall she was, whether she was ("remember, you're under oath" ha ha ha) a "good tipper".

Then she spoke about how it had interrupted Paltrow's vacation and what she had lost as a result of it; that she hadn't been able to continue skiing that day.  GT looked a little perplexed, but then said what you've quoted.

Not elitist at all; just trying to answer an inane question the best way she could.

I'm delighted to hear that Sanderson lost the case.  All the Facebook postings (by him) of him traveling to farflung places.  All while having become "a recluse"?  Yeah and I have a bridge to sell you.

Some people love to hate celebrities and always assume they're in the wrong.  (People who, by the way, have earned their money.)  Thankfully, the jury, when presented with all the evidence, wasn't buying his story.

ETA:  I love the Eagles' song "Get Over It".  Seems to apply to a lot of these frivolous, money-grab lawsuits.

I don't know who is right or wrong on this case, don't know much about it.  But I saw a few minutes today and she was chewing something (gum?) and seemed to be rolling her eyes. Not very respectful in court. She seems a strange bird to me.

I just saw different pictures of her in court, she seems very arrogant. But I did not watch it.

I thought the lawyers on both sides were beyond pathetic.

Also, as far as what O.J. thinks about anything~~~go away, no one cares. His opinion on anything is irrelevant to me.

Re: Gwyneth Paltrow won her case

From what little I saw and heard of this trial? It was a charade to hopefully get more face time for this actress. Does she have a book coming out?

I've sat on 9 different Jury Panels, and what I saw of this trial, belongs on a comedy sit-com.

@CAcableGirl2

One of the attorneys commenting on the case said they were likely making $800 an hour and there were several of them plus all the experts.  That was over a six year period so he estimated from 5 to 15 million!!  He said people would be amazed at how much time would be involved.

You can read about her attorneys at Epperson & Owens, Salt Lake City.  That explains why Sanderson's attorneys didn't do extras like the animations of the crash.
