Doesn't she have a blog called "Goop"?

Good name for it, although "Cr-ap" might be a bit better.

When a vacuous celebrity compares a minor annoyance in her life to what is suffered by soldiers in combat, she is dissing the military because she's saying the two are therefore equal. My God, what a huge ego to go with that tiny brain! What she said was not "taken out of context".

Here is the full quote:

“You come across [online comments] about yourself and about your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing. It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it,” she said. “My hope is, as we get out of it, we’ll reach the next level of conscience.”

ITA with you, BCB!

It's an Eleanor Roosevelt quote. I can't remember who quoted her here the other day. Edited to add that it was Kitty Lou WhoSmiley Happy

I believe I did.

And I'm discussing her ideas in this thread. Or, more accurately, I'm taking issue with them.

...and I think the word she needed to use at the end would be consciousness, but maybe I'm wrong.

It's a shame she won't try to smooth this over by making a trip to see wounded warriors and what it truly means to be in a war, but such a thought is too complex for her tiny little mind.

She's just vile.

It was an Eleanor Roosevelt quote.

But the quote actually was:

"Great minds discuss ideas.

Average minds discuss events.

Small minds discuss people."

Hammer away, whomever wants to hammer.

GP has yet to learn that speaking one's mind is highly overrated.

She just cannot help herself because she continues to believe she has something important to say.
