They don't even change the sheets everyday in the hospital any more unless they are soiled. I was hospitalized for 5 days and never had the sheets changed, I had my husband bring my pillow from home though.

@blackhole99 Don't think they bathe patients anymore, either, unless they're in ICU --- maybe there.

A relative was just in ICU after a complicated surgery. He was there for 10 days. He asked them to wash his hair and shave him; they never did - it didn't happen until he came home at 14-15 days. No bathing either.

•••••••••••!!!!!!!!••••••••••Great answer, @RedTop.
I have worked in hospitals ( medical clinical research and educator), along being in charge of one on one patient to infectious diseases, and being a survey reporter while indiscriminately checking nursing homes. 99% of most lay- non professional { average person } has no idea what GROSS actually is!!!!!!
I have traveled throughout the world and have witnessed hundreds of people who never slept in a bed, nor had proper hygiene.
Sleeping on a week old sheet is attached to the The Fortunate American.... Pampered.
Yes, I know what you have referred to growing up on a farm. Our family ( 3 generations) has the largest apple & peach orchard in our state, along with a working farm.
Not changing sheets for 3 days was my laugh for today.

I agree my doctor is always saying that we all ask what we can do about dry skin and yet we insist on showering everyday. I don't consider myself a clean freak but I do think I should shower everyday. He says every other day would be more than enough with just washing up on the off day, unless you do something to get really dirty or sweaty. I just feel better getting into bed freshly showered. To each their own.

get over yourself. Putting your self above others over such a petty thing such as sheets washed or blankets washed every week.... BE KIND. Try to do good rather than stir up hate. Others not meeting your requirements to enter your home?.... you need a reality check.
It is my home, you are really being rude, i think most people would be shocked that a person did not wash their bedding for 3 months, guess you are not, would not stay at your house. This person is not dissabled, he is a normal person.well but dirty!!!

So even if it is gross there may be a reason.
Do you really think @goldensrbest was talking about a situation like that, though?
I don't........I think everyone is aware that things change and must be adjusted when there are medical issues!
Thank you ,i was speaking of a normal person, just lazy.
