Re: Grocery delivery service

I use SHIPT and it is the best money I've ever spent!

I go to Publix occasionally because I do enjoy seeing new products and cruising the store but for my items that I purchase every week or so, SHIPT delivers.  It was necessary when I started but I love it so I still use it.

My delivery lady is wonderful and I always get 1st rate products.  She checks for expiration dates and if the produce is not up to par, she will text and let me know and ask if I still want it.  Never had a bad purchase delivered.  Recommend it highly!

Re: Grocery delivery service

I have been using Peapod since before online ordering, back when there was catalog with item numbers and you had to call in your order.  I also occasionally use Amazon Fresh and Primenow.  I live them all but Peapod is my go to.  I can't tell you if the cost and small add on fee are worth it,  it's not an issue for me or anyone I know because driving to the grocery store isn't free...gas does cost money.  Our time is worth money.  I rarely have any mistakes on my order.  Sometimes they will substitute, like Progresso clam chowder for Campbell's clam chowder.  Sometimes something will be out of stock but 90% of the time, I get everything I ordered.  When we had a cat, we ordered kitty litter and bags of cat food and cases of wet cat food.  We order cases of bottled water now and sugar free sodas.  Heavy stuff.  The Peapod drivers bring it in and put it wherever you want it to go.  Yes, of course I tip the driver.   If it's a small order, without a lot of heavy stuff $3.00.    If it's a big order with heavy stuff, $5.00.  Peapod saves me money because I don't buy anything on impulse.  There are no  "those crab puffs look, let me buy some" moments.  It keeps me healthy because I don't see all the sugary fatty stuff so no temptation.   We have a 95 year old friend who lives in a brownstone.  He can't lug groceries up steps and he can't walk around a grocery store.  Every two weeks, hubby (who looks out for him) goes over and places his Peapod order for him.  So, he always has what he needs and what he likes in the house.

I have many delivery services in my area  .  I choose AMAZON FRESH. They are really great. You get to choose  the EXACT TIME  of DAY, you want your order delivered, the exact DAY you want your order delivered.

You can choose if you want them to RING YOUR BELL  or just  LEAVE YOUR ORDER AT YOUR DOOR  with out bothering you at all.

They deliver in cute green insulated Green Carriers (sorry cannot think of the name of those insulated things you take on picnics.lol)

They pick up your insulated carrier on your next order ,( just leave it  out by your door)  no matter how long  you take to re order  or if you want they will come pick it up at your door step if you request it without ordering.

Oh, and  prices are very reasonable.........

All perishables are packed in Ice and breads, cakes ,ect are all in sperate packing

Smiley Happy  There is nothing like AMAZON  imo!

Re: Grocery delivery service

I  buy groceries online from Safeway/Albertson and have for many years. LOVE IT !!! I usually don't have to pay a delivery charge as I have them delivered within the 4 hour span which is free. The lesser time frames charge a fee. I order at least 4 x a month. I get most of my heavy things delivered and go buy my produce as I like to pick that out myself. Have had very few snafus that have been fixed by emailing the delivery dept and then I get a credit on my card. So easy to do. Tried Amazon fresh too and that was fine but didn't want to pay the monthly charge on top of a delivery fee if you order less than $35. I hate grocery shopping anyway----this is easy peasy!!!

I absolutely love InstaCart.  Delivery is usually within one hour and notifications if they are out of what I need. It is so convenient.

Re: Grocery delivery service

Certain items like water, we get online.  I have a recurring request for 6 gallon containers on Deer Park.  It's ordered once a month.  Also all the Snapple I get is in 24 bottles shipment from Amazon.
