Was anyone else grossed out by the green pool the women divers were using today?!  Eeeewwwwww.  Someone reported that hydrogen peroxide was mistakenly put into the pool--which encouraged algae growth.....in this day and age, you would have thought they would move the competition to another pool.......okay, I'm done ranting......

You'd think that the folks that take care of that would have-----taken care of it. For years, DH took care of our pool. One time some green algae got into it and he couldn't get it cleared up. We hired a pool service company and they got our water crystal clear. Costs us $75 a month, but money well spent.

It's the Olympics, fix the problem, hydrogen peroxide or whatever.  It's gross and I'm sure in some way affects the divers, and water polo teams.  I know it would bother me to swim in what looks like a wierd color green jello.

It happened to our pool a few times as well.  We would shock it, scrub away the algae, take care of the diatomaceous earth in filter

(ex's job), pool robot would clean up all the algae that fell to bottom.  Pools are lots of work with the constant upkeep not to mention the expense of it all.  Gotta admit, the family and friends enjoyed it immensely, especially when the kids were younger.  Those were the days...

I really can't conceive that during the OLYMPIC GAMES, for heaven's sake, with the eyes of the world already very aware of all the crime and incompetence occurring in Rio, that it should be that difficult to get and keep clean pools!

What is so different in the diving pools than the swimming pools? Treat them (chemically) the same. I can't believe this issue has been going in for DAYS. Eww, yechh, grosssss!

No spoiler in my post below.  I hit the emotes and the spoiler came up,  I am on an ipad, is that common?  I can use my own emotes, but not the forum ones.  Hmmmmm

@shoekitty I'm on an iPad as well. I do very little formatting in my posts because the icons are so close together and touch sensitivity is annoying - I can press away and nothing happens. And it's very easy for me to have the wrong thing pop up when I'm trying to hit something else. So no, it's not just you 😟

Between the gross Algae laden pools and the Zika virus, these Olympics have been an embarrassment.
