@Judaline @That's one song I can never listen to.  It was playing on the radio after we put our kitty down years ago.    I had always liked it before then though .

I'm sorry to have brought up a bad memory. But the lyrics are so true-for me, anyway. When my dad died, very young, I felt JUST like the theme of that song. How can things go on as before?  People going to work, to the movies, and on and on. I was young but it's exactly how ol' Skeeter Davis sang it. Of course I realized in time, that's life. That's the way it is. But those lyrics are poignant I think. I'm really sorry. I will delete both of these replies of mine if you want me to. Just tell me.

I wonder if Carly Simon ever revealed who "You're So Vain" was about?

 

A lot of people surmised it was Warren Beatty but she said it wasn't.

Ya know, after my response to you, I did some research.

You were right! She has admitted that the 2nd verse was indeed about Warren Beatty and that the rest of the song was about 2 other men, but not Jagger. She won't reveal who they are to this day. Weird....
