Love the whole song.  It's the last line that lingers.

 " Nobody loves no one."

Does he mean that everyone loves someone, requited or not, OR,

Truely, No one loves anyone."?

Either way it's soul touchingly LONELY.

I am not sure either, but I totally agree with you that the last line is in your words, soul touchingly lonely.

Great interpretation, @candys mineWoman Happy

"If you wanted the sky
I would write across the sky in letters
That would soar a thousand feet high
To sir, with love"

I get teary every time when Lulu sings this song to Sidney Poitier the end of the movie.

@Pearlee ... Hahaha!! No! I don't think Linda Ronstadt's song "You're No Good" would receive the title of "Greatest Song...One Line". For some reason that song popped in my head!! She's a great singer... Maybe l was thinking about one of my two exs... They were both no good!
...but l listed a few other songs l really liked... especially anything by Whitney Houston. ❤️
