Was watching Wheel of Fortune the other evening and noticed something odd (to me).
One of the contestants claimed to have a Master's Degree (can't recall what discipline), yet when she was asking to "buy a vowel," she'd say, "can I have a "E."
The first time she said it, I thought maybe she's just nervous. But throughout the show she kept doing the same thing....."can I have a "U" or "I'd like to buy a "O."
I'm rather picky when it comes to proper grammar and couldn't help but wonder how someone with an advanced degree would use "a" instead of "an" when saying it in front of a vowel.
Ok...done.
