Gracie has been on Atenolol one week now, and so far, so good. She gets it in an ear gel and it's much easier with no stress for her. I have learned to sprinkle out a few treats on the kitchen floor for her, and while she nibbles them, I put the ear gel in. She seems more alert, energetic and playful since she started this medication, not sleeping as much as she seemed to be before on the Diltiazem, and so far (knock on wood), I have not seen her having any episodes. She's been very active with the other cats, too, and while that still makes me somewhat nervous, I think it may be the only way we will know if the Atenolol is truly controlling the heart issues if she plays hard and doesn't have any problems.
So, keep your fingers crossed that Dr. Bowers has finally found what will help my sweet little girlie! And thanks for your concern and continued prayers for her (AND me!!)
