Still, people aren't going in droves to other countries for their health care - that tells me that they prefer the USA. I wasn't lying about meeting other ladies - a number too from Canada and the UK who came here for cancer treatment. I did ask why and they were not going to get help for a while and that the cancer was not going to wait for a permission slip to continue devastating. They didn't stay in their countries to wait for treatment. I didn't look to Spain or elsewhere for my cancer treatment. Why would I?

Still the USA is the most blessed nation and others are resentful of that fact.

Of course people with insurance won't be leaving the USA for treatment. That doesn't mean health care in other countries is bad. In other countries people don't have to worry that they will bankrupted by one illness. They don't have to choose between buying medicine and buying food. Just because you have access to good health care doesn't mean it's true for millions of others. I know several people in the UK who got excellent and timely cancer treatment there. I myself have been treated by NHS doctors in London and the care is excellent.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

Re: Gotta love this country.

OH my goodness. My apologies if I riled anyone on this. My experience has been different and to those who have had excellent results and care outside the USA, I am glad for you. I also know that there are those everywhere that don't get needs met. I am aware of the various situations folks can be in but UNDERSTAND THIS (I am sure you do) - No nation is perfect, no govt. is perfect, no people, no religion, etc. For what I have been blessed with here in the USA, I am thankful and very grateful.
