@Ronettes they all receive payments once a month so it doesn't matter if you get it the 1st of the month or the 30th of the month. If you know your payment is at the end of the month, budget your expenses. Your reply makes it seem that those on public assistance are getting some type of advantange because they are getting their money on the 1st of the month.
Really? Why should seniors have to wait?
It's ridiculous, and I hear people griping about it all the time!

I wonder if @Ronettes knows that a lot these people on "Public Assistance" worked all their lives and are entitled to SS or other forms of SS. Maybe something happened that's beyond their control. I know two people who get EXtra Help because of the loss of a spouse. The Extra Help pays the $164 monthly which goes up to about 170 something next year. I don't see it as been on "Public Assistance". Anybody collecting Medicare and falls below the poverty level can get the Extra Help.
For those not at the age for Medicare but receive Spousal Benefits or other forms of SS get no help as far as I know.
Another thing, I had to read her Post a few times because I didn't understand what's the difference in the dates when someone gets paid. It's still within the month. I really do thgin that those getting it later in the month knows exactly what to do. Oh well.

Wonder if @Sage04 realizes that some people have to pay their bills on the first of the month, which disadvantages them?

@Ronettes how would that be a disadvantage? It's still called a budget and oh I don't know, live within their means and not blow the entire payment before the bills are due, no matter when they are due or when you get paid.

Very strange that one cannot have a differing opinion on these blogs, LOLOL!

@Ronettes my husband received his on the 3rd of each month. On the 1st if the 3rd falls on a weekend. He was not on Public Assistance.
My brother started collecting a few months ago. His birthday is about the middle of the month and he gets his on the 3rd. He is not on Public Assistance.
Maybe those people you hear griping are getting Spousal Benefits like I am and that could be the difference. I get mine the 2nd Wednesday and do not have a problem with that. It's still within the same month.
That's life. People complain about everything instead of dealing with things that are beyond their control.

@Ronettes seniors are not waiting. They are getting their money once a month just like those who receive public assistance. Also, there are seniors who receive public assitance. Why does it matter when you receive the money as long as you get it every month? Again, those on public assistance are not getting an advantage because they receive the money on the first of the month.

@Ronettes of course I do. What did they do while waiting for the approval from Social Security? I'm sure their rent was paid.

No where did I read that one could not have a differing opinion. Make it make sense. Whenever you get the payments, you are still getting it once a month. Why should it matter when you get it?
