@kaydee50  I much prefer to donate to the Salvation Army.  Goodwill has too many very generously paid executives.  I want my stuff to go to people who need it, not to support an executive lifestyle plus SA picks up.

I always make sure my donations are clean and laundered.  I've heard of some gross things coming out of those donation bags.

@Katcat1

You're confused. I said the exact opposite. You have me mixed up with what someone else said.

i used pickupplease.org last month for about eight bags.....so convenient for them to just come and pick them up at the front door.

Re: Goodwill Donations

[ Edited ]

I dropped off several boxes of things over a month ago.  They had attendants outside as normal but then had HUGE bins to sort the items into clothing, household goods, etc.  I got out and handed the boxes to the workers.

It doesn't surprise me that they are waiting 2 weeks before handling everything.  I think a lot of retail stores are doing this with clothing that has been tried on.

Tuesday we loaded up the car with donations and the place was not open. There were cones across the entrance so you couldn't go into the parking lot.

They had just recently moved into a brand new building so I'm not sure what is going on. It is an organization that is a Network of Victims Assistance.

I started donating to them because the Goodwill stores near us were not accepting any more donations.
