I have a few bags of clothes to donate to Goodwill. I called today and found out that your bags of clothes will be held for two weeks before placing out for sale.  Everyone has to wear a mask customers and employees if you go inside.  The drive up is a no contact matter.  Hours have changed so check with your local Goodwill.

My daughter and I brought some household goods a few weeks ago.  Even though there was an attendant at the drop off location, we had to deposit our goods in the donation bins ourselves.

I'm waiting for the Salvation Army to schedule pick ups which they are not doing in my area at the present time.

At our Goodwill, you pop the trunk/back open and the employee takes the donations out.  They don't want you to get out of the car.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Does that mean they don’t wash the donated clothes before selling them?

Goodwill and other charities don't wash donated clothing. They don't have employees or equipment to do laundry.

I’ve been inside Goodwill where the donations start before and they had professional grade washer/driers. They always had plenty of employees.  Whether they still do, is another thing.

I went a couple weeks ago.  Drop off employees touch nothing.  Huge cardboard boxes line the drop off and are labeled.  You put your donations in the boxes.  I was a little worried because I had breakable items and it was a long drop into the box.  When the boxes are full, they stop taking donations because they only have so much room.  No receipts.  You have to go online to get one.  I haven't done it.

@Silver Lining   Do you think they have a washer & dryer at Goodwill?  There is no way they could possibly wash all those clothes.
