Former President Jimmy Carter says, "Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body."

Carter, 90, had a "small mass" removed from his liver earlier this month. At the time, he received a prognosis for a full recovery.

Carter said he will receive treatment at Emory University in Atlanta.

this doesn't sound good for him, but I will be sending positive healing thoughts for him and his family. He is a good man.

mods - this isn't political.  There have been posts for President Bush 41 and his recovery, so I would hope this can also remain civil and stay up.

I read that online also. I agree it doesn't sound good for him.  However, he is 90 and nobody lives forever; we have to die of something eventually.  But I wish him well, even though he was not my favorite president by a very longshot.

I wish him well. My Father was 95, still lived on his own and cooked for himself  and  even still drove....Last May he was diagnosed with bladder cancer....he died 4 weeks later.

I have great admiration for Jimmy Carter and what he has done since he left office.

He is a man of great faith; I pray he has a peaceful journey

That's very nice, lulu.  I agree with you.

He and his wife not only talked the talk, they walked the walk.  That's evident with all he did for Habitat for Humanity.

Sad abut President Carter - I didn't know he was so ill.  Prayers for him and his family.
