CBS announced it has ordered an 11th season of the country’s No. 1 ranked series, the drama NCIS which is averaging nearly 22 million viewers this season.

“In a world gone niche, ‘NCIS’ keeps getting bigger, and [series star/exec producer] Mark Harmon continues to define the role of leading man on the #1 show on television,” CBS Corp CEO Leslie Moonves said in Friday’s announcement, which noted “NCIS’ is the country’s No. 1 program this season for the first time ever, ahead even of NBC’s Sunday football.

“‘NCIS’ is the type of franchise every company wants in today’s global content ecosystem — high-quality storytelling that generates passionate viewers and drives revenue on every conceivable platform,” Moonves said in CBS’s announcement.
