I saw the movie today, did not read the book.

What a gawdawful film.....not ONE character one could empathize with or sympathize with; way too long; a gazillion unnecessary scenes (just because it is from a book does not mean you have to include every page for the movie - but it appears the author also wrote the screenplay); and the plot was ridiculous and more suited to "fantasyland".

Towards the end, when Tyler Perry said something like "....you two people are psycho....." the entire audience clapped.

I think this is a classic Emperor-Has-No-Clothes.
