I just got home from seeing it. I was thankful when it was over and that I never read the book. I did, however, think the acting was outstanding. And I saw no full frontal from Ben Affleck. I thought the movie was disturbing. I think I'll sleep with the lights on.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

The full frontal was more like a side view..when he was in the shower. Oh it was definitely there, believe me I was looking. Not because of Ben...ewww...but because my son wants to see it and I was not sure if it was appropriate for his age. That being said there was at least three inappropriate scenes which was more then the Common Sense Media online website mentioned. Absolutely NOT appropriate for kids under...I would say 16? Unless they are "active"...you know? Then it would look like yesterday's news to them.

I saw it yesterday morning. The show was 11:20. Shortly before it began 3 women came in pushing strollers. 2 had infants, 1 was a toddler. Someone cried throughout the entire 2 1/2 hours.

I liked the movie. The actresses that played the wife, sister and lead detective were excellent.

I'm not a Ben Affleck fan but though he was perfect for the part. Neil Patrick Harris was good creepy.

I didn't read the book...is there much violence? I can't see violent movies - they upset me...and have since I was a teen.

TIA!

There was 1 scene I could not watch.

It was THAT scene that made realize the movie was just nuts. It was proof to me that I wasn't imagining that the movie was ridiculous.

Yeah, buckets of blood involved in 1 scene! Excellent movie, seemed like 90 min it had me so interested, not too long at all.

After reading here I doubt I will love this movie. lol. But my husband heard its so good he wants to see it. (He often listens to critics, I don't..lol). PS) Ben Affleck doesn't float my boat. Anyway we are going Sunday as I said earlier. I am game to go if he wants to see any movie, because he sits through numerous chick flicks with me all the time. I will post back if I like it then.

Hi gidget. I only thought the last part of the movie was a bit "disturbing" and also farfetched. I didn't like the way they concluded the movie. But, the first 3/4 of the movie wasn't disturbing imo, and it was interesting with the twists and turns. I'm not a huge Ben A. fan, but I thought all the actors including himself were excellent in it!

I didn't see the full frontal scene. I saw her in the shower, but I didn't see any of his "parts". I must not have been looking, LOL.

All in all, a good movie. They messed up with the ending, but perhaps that's how it ended in the book. I will read the book when I get time.

I thought the casting was really outstanding. Rosamund Pike was a standout. Well, they all were. It's just not my typical movie choice and I knew that going in, but I wanted to see it. I thought it was really very well done, but once was enough. Next up is the Reese Witherspoon movie, The Good Lie.

Hi Gidget I, too, want to see The Good Lie. I don't know much about it so I may check out rotten tomatoes.com to see reviews. Have a goo day. BTW, Rosamund Pike was outstanding in Gone Girl. ITA

It wasn't that scene that made me think parts of the movie were ridiculous. It was the last 10 to 15 minutes. That disappointed me as it was too far fetched.

I didn't read the book but I'm going to see the movie on Friday with my two girlfriends. My daughter read the book and she liked it. Our paper didn't give it a great review but it's only that person's opinion, you can't always go by the reviews, good or bad.
