Does anyone remember when QVC has there all day Gold Rush Days?  I believe its a couple of times each year.  And I believe they had one last August.  Thanks a lot.

Yes!  Fun times, when gold prices were reasonable.  This board was especially busy on those days.

Oh yeah, I remember.  I used to get excited about it.  I was building my 18K cache then.  Now of which I only own the white gold pieces in WG.

It was all relative though, prices may've been cheaper then, but we had 2 in college and one still in private school.  So, gold wasn't ever *cheap* to me.

I still look at the offerings, but 2018 was the first time ever I didn't buy one piece.

The one in August is another favorite of mine.

Perfect for me.  Anniversary month and birthday month!

I think the 24 hour ones were always Jan 24 and Aug 17.

Re: Gold rush days

[ Edited ]

I like gold, but I got rid of most of my heavy weight gold jewelry years ago when gold was selling so high. I saved my 18k hoops, my bangle bracelet, gold cross, diamond and 14k pendant and a few 14k neck chains. I don't regret selling, a lot of the jewelry was dated. I don't mind buying gold glad, so much cheaper and if I get tired of it, so what, it didn't cost a fortune.I still watch the gold shows, I don't think they call it Gold Rush though.

I loved those days!  When I went back to work after spending time home as a sahm, I could finally justify spending a little money on gold jewelry.  And the prices per gram were great!  My coworkers and I would get together before work the next day to chat about our purchases. It was a lot of fun.

We’re all retired now and only get together twice a year.  Sure miss those days but it’s nice to be retired.

I used to drool over gold jewelry on gold days.  The 2 gold days per year are the only days I watch Q but I don't watch them all day anymore.  So much of their gold is cheap/flimsy or outrageously expensive.  They're missing the boat by not having more mid-range priced quality gold jewelry.

The next one is January 24th.

The Once In A Lifetime shows were worth viewing just to see some new pieces. Since I only wear white metals now, those pieces are rarely shown in gold shows...silver only.

I’m not sure Q is known for their outstanding selection of unique designs. IMO, their gold shows are a lot of repeat designs at clearance prices.

Yep....those were the days.  Always enjoyed those shows, and I too have some very lovely pieces I purchased.  But it has been a long time now since I have purchased anything like they made back then.  Just don't like things that have a filler and covered with a thin layer of gold.....  And besides, I just don't go out like I used to where I feel the need to have anything new in gold.
