Carmie.

My son also lives in PA. The young woman and her father checked the taillight and it was working fine

I feel like I’m becoming a dog. I live for meals and walks. The prospect of a ride in the car is the best thing ever.

Yep.  We took our girl for exercise and then the long way back home.  I'm as happy as she is to "go for ride"!

It's really not a good time for people to be making their own rules.  Questioning it is fine, but if it's not allowed, then we shouldn't be doing it.

What is the negative of people driving in a car
Maybe people would not “isolate” and group together in a car. I know we did that as teenagers 😎

I have been out for a drive a couple of times, but may reconsider in future.

I have family in the UK who are being told not to drive except for essential purposes. The reason for this is that they do not want any extra strain on the health-care system if an accident were to occur. They may not have adequate emergency vehicles and hospital space to treat the injured at this time.

I hadn't thought of that, but it does make a lot of sense.

I have a friend who's an ER doctor (currently quarantined at home because he tested positive). In addition to all the Covid patients, they are also dealing with the usual emergencies, and are stretched beyond their limits as far as staff, equipment, beds, everything.  In a busy hospital, there's a lot going on in addition to the current crisis and it's hard to give even critically injured/ill patients adequate care.

So it makes sense to keep the chance of motor vehicle accidents down to a minimum.

Absolutely!  We take our dog and just drive around for about 1/2 hour.  Come back feeling like we had a little outing and give the kitty back his house for awhile.

@Tessa Mendoza  if the dogs and cats could speak they would say to their humans " what are you still doing here, don't you have someplace to be? You know you're infringing on  MY TIME! "
