@Shanus at least you received a response. The Q Social Team who is usually good about responding ignored my several emails over the last two weeks asking what the problem is.
Q'S WEBSITE IS JUST THE WORST. CONSTANT IT ISSUES. THAT NICKNAME THING IS ABOUT TO DRUVE ME NUTS. HAVING TO SCROLL THROUGH PAGES FROM THE TOP WHEN LOOKING FOR AN ITEM IS RIDICULOUS.

@Teddixat Not sure there is an IT team, but rather old software and 2 guys who try to operate it by fixing/taping old data together. Never had to change my NIC, but have removed credit info...not sure this is a secure site now or before.

I registered on Proboards once I heard QVC was going to close these forums, so when I was locked out, I went on there and it was just fine! Like anything else it will take a little getting used to, but it was nice to "see" some familiar names and be able to connect with one another! I plan to continue on both boards while able!

I couldn't post for 2 weeks. My pal just quit checking. I had to change a bunch of stuff and start over.

@Harpa I 'heard' that the social team told one poster it was the IT company's issue...they had let the company 'go' because the boards were going to close but failed to notify them that they were staying 'live'....the contract ended and there was no back up in place.
I don't know if this is true or not, just what I read on the PROBOARDS.

I don't think the problem was intentional. Could be that the regular IT staff was on vacation, etc., and maybe a temporary replacement was on duty.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back.
There are worse things in life.
Frustrating, yes. But, not a 'disaster' by any means.

I TOTALLY believe it...that is how many companies work. Things like these forums are outsourced.
My company outsources a lot of IT. We don't even have an IT dept. We are too small.
Everything is contracted out.
That answer is exactly what I and many ppl thought might have happened when they went down ON the day that was originally set to close.
