My friend/co-worker of 20 years has resigned to take what would be a promotional position with a different company (she applied for the same position in our office two years ago, but was not selected).

A long-time employee and a personal friend of the boss, we are gathering at a local restaurant for a special dinner (usually we have a luncheon in the office break room). The office will be taking up a collection for a group gift, but I thought I would also get her a gift just from me. I was thinking of some desk related item, but would like your opinion, what do you think would be correct, thoughtful, appropriate, etc.??
