Re: Ghost Sightings -- Part 2

This is a serious question...if you got home from your trip and a pipe had burst and flooded the basement, would that be a "sign"?

Re: Ghost Sightings -- Part 2

I have felt a paranormal presence on many occasions in Fredericksburg, TX in two different buildings. My skeptical aunt was there when a locked door swung wide open. I have heard someone climbing the stairs when no one else was there. Someone would be walking in the storage area, but no one else was there. We would come in and find merchandise scattered on the floor around the store. Working late at night you could feel a presence.

On one occasion I was home alone. I became quite ill and could not move or call for help. My two fur babies sat eerily still beside me and never left my side. My mother appeared and moved my hair out of my face just as she did when I was sick as a child. She looked very young (about 30 or 40 years old), but she was in her 80's when she passed. The dogs never moved, and she stayed until my husband came home from work. She left when my husband arrived. I have not seen her since.

@On It

OK.....you "became quite ill"....my first thought is ...fever and hallucinations.

I am NOT making fun. I'm analytical.

Just like when host Jane drones on and on and on about cardinals and thier supposed significance....

My Mom passed in 2015...if one of my feral cats kills one of the cardinals in my yard, what does THAT mean?

To me, it means cleaning up a pile of red feathers, no more, no less.

I don't attach any significance to a dead songbird. I just don't get it.

@Othereeeen Yes, a sign that I had an old pipe that burst and needed replacing or repair.  Just that and only that (seriously).

Re: Ghost Sightings -- Part 2

When I worked in an old building that sold art (in the 1920's and beyond it was said it was an antisemitic printing press).

I was in the upstairs conference room having lunch.  From the side my bag appeared to be a triangle and had a big fold over flap, which I had left open and laid down the back.

The flap rose and folded over the front closing itself.

I also heard "her" speaking indistinctly down stairs in the shop in certain corners.

My point is that a coincidental event does NOT a spirit indicate.

It's coincidence, no more no less.

You and I  will have an experiences in the next few days, weeks, years..what significance we attach to it makes it what we think it means....but it doesn't change the fact that it's a coincidental occurence.

And if they occur at or near  the time of a death, or an anniversary of a death, or even NEAR an anniversary of a death ( which is common claim because people want to attach significance to a random event)....that is NOT spiritual.

And as we get older and more and more family member, acquaintances, friends pass away, the calendar becomes more populated with dates of those deaths, so you can attach significance to a random event that occurs close to or on the date of more deaths in your own life.

In other words, if something happens next week and you're older, chances are the occurence matches up or is near a date of death of someone you knew.

Coincidence.

My tire goes flat tomorrow.

It's about eight years since Mom's death.

Are they related?

Maybe she's mad at me for a fight we had in October 1976?

As for "saging".....what motivates it?Smoking up the joint keeps ghosts away?

Why not use a smelly cigar to be SURE?

Do people think someone or something is REALLY hiding in thier closets with thier old clothes and re-soled shoes?

Re: Ghost Sightings -- Part 2

I had the "opportunity" to see a Civil War "apparition" sitting on a large rock on a battlefield in Gettysburg one cold late fall day when not many people were around.

He sat there staring and the vibe I got was negative.  I stood there frozen for quite awhile.  After I got it together, I took off to look for my husband as he was off roaming.

After doing a bit of research, the entire town of Gettysburg is rife with paranormal all over the area.  It is no surprise as one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War was fought there and thousands of soldiers were killed.

There must be an incredible amount of energy encompassing the entire town.  I understand there have been quite a few sightings there.

I do know one thing for sure.  It shook me up enough that I will NEVER go back there.  I am sensitive to things and I would not subject myself to the dark energy again.

Re: Ghost Sightings -- Part 2

I think that I might have mentioned this in the other thread that was up, but I have seen some of my kitties that have passed on throughout the years.

I remember looking at a photo of one of them, and just reminiscing about him. He was such a cute and sweet little tuxedo kitty.

This must have been around 2016 or so, and he had passed away in 2001.

Not long after that, I was sitting in our recliner in our living room, and was looking towards the window one sunny morning, and I saw a shadow of a cat against our blinds.

I could see the kitty's  shadow stretching, and then the shadow jumped down off of my piano bench where it had been hanging out.

The thing is, there wasn't any other cat nearby.

I asked my husband where our then kitty Pepper was at the time, and he said that she was in the main bedroom with him.

He asked me why I wanted to know, and I told him that I thought that we had just been visited by a "ghost kitty." He asked me which one of our cats it was, and I said that it looked small, like our tuxedo kitty.

It turns out that it was him.

I actually literally saw him when I was laying on the bed in our other bedroom.

It was another sunny day and I had my head turned towards the hallway. He was sitting in the hall, and I could clearly see the top of his head, just like normal. What I remember so clearly was how the sun was reflecting off of the yellow of his eyes.

I saw him a few more times after that.

Sometimes he would appear in a full-bodied apparition where he was completely filled out and solid, and one time he half appeared which was kind of funny because I saw him walking down our hall only half formed!

Sometimes he would appear kind of see-through.

One time he was looking out through our living room blinds at night. I thought that it was our other cat Pepper, and I told her to get her head out of the blinds, not realizing that it was him.

I think that Pepper could see him and hear him, but he never bothered her.

When he would visit us, he would hang out in the spots that he liked to lay on when he was alive.

It was rather bittersweet to see him.

He had been really sick before he went to rainbow bridge, and then here he was, coming back to see us, looking really well and vibrant.

It's kind of hard to wrap your head around all of this when you have this happening.

I woke up one time to see him laying on my lap when I had been asleep in our recliner. I couldn't feel anything, but I could definitely see him. He appeared see-through.

Sometimes I'd hear him without seeing him. He had a very loud meow, and sometimes he'd be right near me and he'd just meow.

After Pepper passed away, she came to visit for awhile, too.

At the same time, we were still being visited by our tuxed kitty too, so I would see both of them.

He would tend to come and see me in the morning, and then I'd see her later in the day or in the evening.

Sometimes I would see her, and sometimes I would just see her little paw imprints without actually seeing her.

She would jump up on the bed and I would invisibly "see" her paw prints walking across the blanket on the bed when I would lift my head up, and then I could feel her laying down next to me and curling up against my back, just like she used to do when she was still with us.

One time she was laying curled up on top of my lap and I saw her when I woke up. She also looked see-through.

My husband started to walk through the front door at that time, and then she disappeared at the same time.

He couldn't see any of our kitties when they were visiting us. He was feeling rather bad about it.

He told me that he wanted to see Pepper when she stopped by, so later that same night after he had said that, I could hear her meowing out in the back hallway by the main bedroom near him, but he still couldn't hear her.

After we adopted our current kitty, their visits pretty much stopped.

Sometimes I think that I can see Pepper every once in awhile through the corner of my eye, walking or running past.

Re: Ghost Sightings -- Part 2

Yes!  Our son's 100+ year old house in San Antonio has the ghosts of the builders of the house.  I have seen the long skirt of the Mrs flow from the foyer into the dining room.  Occasionally, cigar smoke can be smelled (and no one smokes).  Our adult grandson and our adult niece were alone in the house, yucking it up, and were told SHHHHH.  It freaked our grandson so much that he stays in a hotel when he comes to visit his father.

Our best friend's place in Northern Wisconsin is haunted.  I once went upstairs to get something from the room we were staying in.   At the top of the stairs, I glanced toward the bathroom and saw an older gentleman with white hair standing in there.  I said "hi, Al" and kept walking, but suddenly remembered Al was down at the boathouse.  Al is an older gentleman with white hair.
