Getting a 6 mo. old kitty, litter box and other suggestions

I'm getting a 6 month old kitty (for indoors) and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on litter boxes and what kind they like. Also, any other suggestions/tips would be appreciated! What about scratching posts/kitty condos?
