Honestly, I don't know the breakdown on our internet. We didn't get the basic internet (I think we could have and be fine but DH wanted the next level up) $60.00 pm
Hulu with Live TV is $44.95 a month total. None of those additional fees. They just have a flat fee. We get live 70 channels + all Hulu movies and series. Best of all, I haven't missed one football or basketball game that I wanted to see. We'll see about baseball.
HTH
Thanks for the info. It appears the savings for chord cutters is due to the fact there are no additional fees/surcharges. ...
I can understand the sports surcharge to broadcast my NBA team on local channels. A long time ago the team itself used to charge $14 a game if you wanted to watch a game on local TV plus tax =$1148 yr (82 games is a regular season) versus sports fee with cable = $168. Dont mind paying that to see my team....
But its the other fees, Spectrum/Comcast got sued over the separate Broadcast Fee--otherwise broadcast alternatives would have to charge for it if was an FCC rule which it wasnt. And then those other fees depend on where you live (you're right @sunshine45 ) a topic which is prohibited on this forum....
Interesting!

Our xfinity double play (cable and internet) in PA had just crossed the $200.00 a month line when we left in August. I think rates vary by location but dropping to $105.00 makes us happy and we don't feel like we're missing anything.
All of the series I used to watch on regular channels are over so there isn't much on that I watch anyway. I'm pretty much down to sports, news (CNN, MSNBC) and sometimes HGTV.

Are you saying that we're paying over $30.00 in fees but they are built into the $44.95 a month charge? If so, Hulu isn't making much money on their live TV service.
Im saying your saving because no fees are charged, all your paying for is your subscription

we DO pay a tax on our hulu, but it is listed separately. it is taxed because our state requires it to be taxed. i think all of these types of fees have to be listed separately.
you probably live in a state where they dont charge taxes or fees for your hulu service.
that is the beauty of "cutting the cord".....you probably miss out on all of the taxes and fees for the most part.
