This will be happening tomorrow Thursday, 2/17 in the Chicago and suburbs of Chicago.  Five to 7 inches.  This is such a late winter for us.  I'll be staying in and enjoy the Olympics.

Re: Get Ready for all day SNOW

I am down state, Central Illinois.  We are to get rain, freezing rain and then 5 to 10 inches of snow!   Praying we do not lose power and that the freezing rain will be minimal.

They are predicting thunder snow as the snowfall will be heavy.  I love thunder snow.  So eerie............

I did my errands today and it was in the high 50's and I was able to do my walking outside.  Mr. 4 kitties has the snowblower ready to go.  We are all set!

Re: Get Ready for all day SNOW

Here in NE PA we finally got out of the deep freeze (for now anyway). We are to be in the 50s tomorrow with rain at night.

I've learned not to get too excited about warmer temps and decent weather until well into April.

DH and I got married at the end of March 1969.  On our 1st anniversary we had a foot of snow.

Take care in this storm.

I am in northern suburbs of Chicago too.  Stay in and be safe....especially if there is ice!  It may not be as bad as predicted...🤞.  Fortunately, my schedule is clear so let it happen.  Winter hasn't been that bad so far...at least my area...some southern areas have had more snow.

We are below you in the NC mountains.  We are forecast to have heavy rain!  Sounds like a system that picked up the water from the gulf which usually spells trouble;  that's when we get our worst snows!

Western suburbs of Chicago - ice followed by snow.  They're predicting about 3 inches of snow.  It's very windy, and the combination of ice and snow is not good.

True, "Spring is coming!".  You gave me a smile because the blizzard we had was near the end of March one year, and that's NC!

Re: Get Ready for all day SNOW

It snowed in VA  south of Richmond once on April 23.

I remember the date because it was my Morher's birthday.
We are due to have rain. Tomorrow will be 71. Friday rain and 64 and down to 29 at night. (Hope that rain stops before the freeze! )

   Daffodils are blooming.
       Crazy weather!  😜

Re: Get Ready for all day SNOW

We'll be on the rain side of this event in the northeast.  It's going to be in the 50's here today and tomorrow.  Heavy rain overnight tonight (thurs) with 55 MPH winds.  It's the darn winds that are more of an issue with losing the power, yikes!
