GS retired from an extremely successful careers in designing as well as teaching.

Used to love to listen to him explaining how garments were made. He tried to manufacture things in US.

He loved women and tried to make us look good.

GS was featuring the cold shoulder look years and years ago.

He seemed to lose his way a bit at the end with  "embellishments".

I wrote letters to tptb to keep him. A man with class and kindness and true humility.

I wish him a fabulous retirement

My clothing from him has held  up beautifully.  Cannot say that about the other designer here.  I loved watching him present.  I hope he is well and wil enjoy his retirement.  Always loved that channel set  ruby ring he wore on on his right hand.  It was magnificent.

I always looked forward to his appearances just to see what he was wearing.  He had a fantastic wardrobe.  No other vendor ever went to such length to honor the viewer by his prep for his shows.  Half of the men can't bother to shave or comb their hair.

His clothing was nice and filled a niche that has been vacant since his departure.

Thanks so much for this @IMW as I am a huge GS fan and was very sorry when he left QVC.  The quality of his clothes were always very well made and fit a woman's body perfectly.  I always enjoyed watching him as he described in great detail how items were designed and the attention to detail that took place.  You just don't see that anymore.

Another designer I really miss is Chloe Dao.  I purchased a few pieces from her limited collection and got nothing but compliments on them (my friend who sews practically ripped a jacket off of me examining how well it was constructed she was so impressed).  I just looked up her line, I am glad to see she is still carrying her designs forward as they look terrific.  I wish both of them well as they deserve it.

I just looked at his Facebook and he said he is busy designing for Saks, Nordstroms and lord and Taylor's. He also said he is still teaching classes. He posted this the end of June.

Sounds as if he only retired from QVC.  I wish this respectful gentle man much happiness and success.

George put on his Facebook awhile ago that QVC did not ask him back and he was very disappointed. I felt bad as I always liked him.
