I just read this sad news. For some reason, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for him.
Having recorded Ship of Fools on TCM, I viewed the film about three weeks ago. He was young, and, of course, I first viewed his work when he was a young man. It has been interesting to watch him as he's aged.
May he rest in peace.

All these actors I grew up watching are all dying. George Segal was enjoyable to watch. May he R.I.P.

He died unexpectedly of complications from heart bypass surgery.
I always liked him and thought he aged very well as he got older. Loved him as Jeff Bridges' friend in The Mirror Has Two Faces and in numerous other roles. He'll be missed.

I always liked him also. He used to play in the Beverly Hills Unlisted Jazz Band. They regularly played in a pizza parlor in LA and we went to see them often. Fun memories of him in the good old days!.

Wasn't he a comedic actor? I saw him in a movie with Barbara Streissand (I think). R.I.P.

Pops. He was perfect in that part. I haven't missed an episode of The Goldbergs. He will be missed on that show. The fans will miss him.
I loved him in A Touch of Class and Just Shoot Me!
A great actor.

@DJP @gertrudecloset The Mirror Has Two Faces starred Streisand.
She and Jeff Bridges and George Segal were college professors.

While we are highlighting George Segal's major roles, let's not forget his strong performance in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
He had to show some acting chops to stand up against Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and Sandy Dennis, who played his wife in the film. I saw the movie when it was first released.
