I respected his service, devotion, and respect for the country. His devotion to his wife and family were admirable. I did not agree with him politically or vote for him, but I never questioned his patriotism or his respect for the office of the presidency or his loyalty to country. May he Rest In Peace and his family find comfort in their love and memories.

He sure lived a respected and long full life, and was so loyal to our country.  He will be missed by many.

I am so saddened by this news.  

May he rest in peace. 

Fortunately, young Barbara Bush married while "Poppy" was still alive.  It was touching that the ceremony was arranged to accommodate her grandpa's age and health limitations (or so it seemed).  Luckily, coastal Maine is beautiful.

(I'm feeling a bit numb, to tell the truth.  Oddly enough, I am shocked.  Of course I was aware of President Bush's advanced years, but I was stunned when I saw this thread.)

Most likely this is why I am both stunned and hurt by his passing.  From MSN:
